My jewelry begins at my favorite beach during low tide, hand selecting naturally tumbled beach stones in a variety of forms, colors, and sizes. The beach stones are brought back to my waterfront studio where they call out to be used in a particular piece of jewelry. My necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings are created with the beach stones, along with sterling hollow textured beads and handmade chain.
I create textured sterling sheet using a variety of materials that include mesh, cloth, and organic matter. The sheet is then used to create hollow beads in different sizes and forms. I use round wire that I coil, cut, solder, hammer and then texture in the fabrication of my sterling chain. When a piece is completed I can sit back and say, “Wow, this is mine, I created it. I love making jewelry.”
