I consume my surroundings, masticate, and regurgitate anew.
An observer, I examine and excavate the layered pasts of a space and/or object, reorganizing in light of contemporary culture and current events. These site manipulations are comprised of familiar, often benign elements re-configured, thereby blurring the lines between attraction and repulsion, high and low, in turn revealing an unsettling, uncanny truth.
I seek to transform the mundane, familiar, or overlooked. Humor and pleasure/sensation are essential to my work, with an underlying gravity. Shifting perspective and scale, I demand physical involvement and curiosity from the viewer. I am fascinated by how a viewer occupies space, and find that this interaction completes the work.
Working with myriad media, my work manifests in multiple forms, from large-scale interactive installations to small, almost unseen, discarded objects.
